Training and Development Specialist

Training and Development Specialist

The CRNA is looking for a Training and Development Specialist for our Learning and Development team. This role will work under the Director, Strategy Execution and is a temporary full-time job opportunity starting in April 2024 until April 2026 with a chance of transitioning into a permanent position. 

The CRNA is in the process of setting up a new Learning and Development program that will aim to create educational programs, materials and tools that will enhance the knowledge and skills of CRNA staff, registrants, applicants and the public. This role will join others to design, deliver and update internal training programs and materials in various formats. You will create and execute effective training strategies and tactics for the whole organization, lead training and be ready to assist our people with user requests. As part of our Strategy Execution team, you will work with others across the organization to help each employee achieve new levels of competence using digital platforms. This role will begin with creating and providing training procedures and resources for our new registrant management system but will grow to cover other internal organizational training projects as well. 

What You Will Do

  • Help create a comprehensive learning strategy that matches the organization's goals.  
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to design, update, and sustain effective and lasting training programs and materials using various training methods and platforms.  
  • Develop and apply feedback and other ways to evaluate the impact of training.  
  • Offer guidance on training related to system changes and updates.  
  • Inform user groups of changes to training programs and materials.  
  • Develop and apply ways to monitor the completion of mandatory training.  
  • Work with internal stakeholders to do formal needs analyses, define learning outcomes and plan training activities.  
  • Deliver different learning opportunities using both face-to-face and online methods.  
  • Do regular checks of learning resources to make sure they are relevant, correct and current.  
  • Develop and deliver training documentation and curriculum.
  • Collect feedback from employees on what they need and track the improvements that result from employee training.
  • Create training calendars and opportunities for employees.
  • Ensure our people understand how to use our applications for a successful outcome.
  • Develop videos, documents, user how-to guides and supports for employees.
  • Learn new applications and help the organization implement new and exciting ways of doing things.

What You Possess   

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in education, technology, business or in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum three years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to convert technical knowledge into meaningful plain language that resonates with a general audience.
  • Willingness to listen, learn, bring new ideas and share your passion for technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully creating, developing, implementing and evaluating training plans.
  • Strong initiative, judgment, organizational skills, creative abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple priorities, tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent team building skills with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Proficient in MS365 applications and virtual meeting platforms.

What We Offer

  • A temporary full-time employment opportunity starting April 2024 through to April 2026 with a possibility of transitioning to ongoing employment.
  • A competitive salary at $79,445.

  • Work environment is remote/hybrid.
  • 7.25 hours per day from Monday through Friday.
  • Earned vacation days at a monthly rate that equates to 15 days per year to start.
