Feedback Needed on Draft Entry-Level Competencies for Nurse Practitioners in Canada

The Entry-Level Competencies (ELCs) for Nurse Practitioners in Canada are reviewed periodically to reflect evolving population needs, health-care systems and nurse practitioner practice. The revised Entry-Level Competencies for Nurse Practitioners in Canada were informed by an environmental scan, literature review and extensive stakeholder consultation. They were endorsed by the Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators (CCRNR) board on Nov. 7, 2022.
Feedback Needed on Draft Guidelines for Interprofessional Teamwork and Collaboration

Deadline: June 22, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.

The CRNA is asking for your input on the draft Guidelines for Interprofessional Teamwork and Collaboration, to ensure they are clear, concise and outline what the public can expect from Alberta registered nurses (RN) and nurse practitioners (NP) in providing safe, competent and ethical care. Before any new or revised standards of practice or regulatory guidelines take effect they are approved by our Council.

The revisions to this draft include broadening the scope and focus to include interactions with all members of the health-care team, replacing the former Teamwork and Collaboration Between Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives Guidelines (2009).
