Anyone looking to practise as a registered nurse (RN) or nurse practitioner (NP) in Alberta must have a permit from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
All applicants must meet the same registration requirements to be eligible to receive an initial permit. In order to maintain their permit, they must continue to meet these same requirements to demonstrate they practise in a safe, competent and ethical manner.
In our Permit Issuance webinar, learn more about the permit process at the CRNA, including how we issue permits in a transparent and equitable way for both first-time and renewal applicants, and how our registration requirements protect the public.
