The CRNA has released Artificial Intelligence: Practice Advice — a new guidance document that helps registrants use artificial intelligence (AI) safely, ethically and professionally in their practice.
This practice advice defines key terms and concepts related to AI and outlines its associated benefits and risks in nursing practice. It also introduces ten guiding principles that are surrounded by an iterative process that promotes assessment, monitoring and evaluation before, during and after the use of AI or robotics. Use of the practice advice helps to ensure that these technologies enhance care without replacing the human connection that defines nursing.
Artificial Intelligence: Practice Advice is intended to support registrants to confidently navigate AI in all practice settings while upholding professional standards, patient trust and ethical responsibility.
