Each year, the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) sets registration fees to support its legislated role of regulating the profession in the public interest. Fees are established through a structured process that considers the resources required to carry out core regulatory responsibilities, including registration, practice guidance, conduct processes, and ongoing improvements to systems and services that support registrants and Albertans.
The CRNA’s Council will approve the fee schedule for the 2026-2027 practice year at its June meeting. As part of its governance role, Council reviews financial forecasts, operational requirements and strategic priorities to ensure fees remain appropriate, transparent and aligned with the organization’s mandate.
Registration fee information for the 2026–2027 practice year will be published on June 19. Once available, full details will be shared on CRNA.com so registrants have the information they need well in advance of the renewal period.
Registrants who have their fees paid by their employer must still compete the payment step in their renewal application and then follow their employer’s processes for reimbursement. Registrants can find receipts for their registration fees in their College Connect accounts.
The annual renewal period runs from August 1 to September 30. All registrants are required to renew their permits annually to continue practising in Alberta. Stay tuned to CRNA.com for more information about renewal.
