Term: 2014 - 2017
Elva has worked in a variety of settings including post-surgical orthopaedics, intensive care, international nursing in Nigeria, outpost nursing in Labrador, maternity nursing in Winnipeg, and nursing education at Red Deer College and, more recently, Alberta Health Services.
She has served on CARNA with the Tribunal Board, which led to her interest in serving on Provincial Council. She has served on numerous volunteer boards in the Red Deer area.
Term: 2016 - 2019
Karen has served as a registered nurse for 30 years. Some of her experience includes acute care, rehabilitative nursing, seniors care, clinic nursing and public health.
In those years, she has had a variety of roles such as front line nurse, case manager, clinical tutor and educator, working in areas such as best practice, quality and safety, quality initiatives, disaster planning and emergency preparedness and coordinator (Auditor).
Karen has also been an active member of UNA and volunteers with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, STARS and delivering/serving Christmas hampers and meals.
