This award recognizes an outstanding RN (or group of RNs) actively engaged in nursing research as principal or co-investigator in any setting.
This award is for current practising or non-practising CARNA member who has made an outstanding contribution to the nursing profession throughout their nursing career. The Awards Selection Committee will look for specific examples of how the nominee:
The nominee (or group) has exceeded the expectations of the nominee’s employers or colleagues and shows promise to become an exceptional member of the profession.
The nominee must have graduated within two years of the nomination deadline. For example, if the nomination deadline is in October 2018, the nominee must have graduated within two years of that date.

Nominators must be practising CARNA members in good standing. Current CARNA staff and provincial councillors cannot nominate.
A person is in good standing if they are not currently the subject of any proceedings, conditions or consensual agreements related to registration or continuing competence requirements or discipline by the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
Prepare specific examples of how the nominee meets each of the award criteria. Include details of contributions to committees, special nursing interest groups and more from the last five years. Examples can go back further for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Upload the nominee’s resume or CV in PDF format. It's a good idea to tailor the content to the Award criteria. If you are nominating a group, the resume can provide additional details of the team's contributions to the community.
Please note that only the first two pages (four pages for nominations to the Lifetime Achievement Award) will be forwarded to the Awards Selection Committee for consideration.
The Awards Selection Committee will review the nominations throughout January and make their decisions. In the first few weeks of February, we will call each nominee and nominator with the results.
