Senior Applications Developer

Contributing to people, culture and innovation within the Business Supports team, the Applications Developer will facilitate and assist in the analysis, design and implementation of applications, application architecture and data models to ensure the software produced by the team can meet business needs and provide value on investment.

Your primary responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into design specifications and use cases
  • Convert business and functional requirements to workable, maintainable and reliable programming code
  • Assist with functional and user acceptance testing of applications
  • Provide training and support in response to user requests or queries
  • Identify and resolve application issues, evaluating and testing new software and updates
  • Maintain and architect applications for optimal flow between corporate, business and financial systems
  • Develop and champion current standards, technologies and methodologies
  • Create new content, tools and useable applications

You possess

  • Minimum of a two year diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; undergraduate degree in related area preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • 7 – 9 years’ experience software development in multiple programming languages and providing technical support for web, desktop and mobile applications
  • Excellent understanding of software design, programming principles and object-oriented programming
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft .Net application development using Microsoft C#, ASP.NET Forms and Web API), SharePoint and other Microsoft development technologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency of client side scripting languages and frameworks like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS), Bootstrap and Materialize
  • Thorough understanding of system development life cycle and in-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and multiple platforms using development tools
  • Ability to collaborate to determine root causes of performance issues and to solution with team members to create innovative solutions for difficult problems
  • Ability to translate and communicate technical concepts and terminology to non-technical users
